A POPULAR Kidderminster festival returns this month with an out of this world theme to delight residents.

The free Kidderminster Fringe Festival, which is now in its 7th year, will be held at a new location in the town, Batemans Yard Car Park on New Road, Kidderminster, from Saturday, August 17, to Sunday, August 18.

This year's festival theme is the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, and people are invited to dress up as aliens and astronauts.

The event will feature over 25 live acts, bars and professional catering.

Acts include Stiff Joints Social Ignition, Cracked Actors, The Humdrum Express, Skewwhiff, Sick Pins, Angry Itch, The Teenage Zombies, The Innocent, Electric Raptor.

There will also be a play area where children can build their very own spaceship.

The event will kick off at 1pm each day, finishing 11pm on the Saturday and 10pm on the Sunday.

The festival was previously held in Worcester Street outside of the Boars Head pub, and has been moved to Batemans Yard Car Park due to the regeneration project in the area.

There will be collection buckets at the event in support of future fringe festivals.
