POLICE have warned residents in the Broadwaters and Greenhill area to be wary of any individuals claiming to be from an energy company.
Reports of suspected false home visits from people purporting to be gas engineers have been made in Kidderminster.
One report involved a male attending the address of an elderly woman, with the man stating that he was from British Gas and had been called to read her meter.
The woman stated that he would have to re-attend when her family was home.
But, the woman did not use the service of British Gas, even though the male stated her address and seemed to be wearing identification.
Police have advised residents to confirm with gas providers if they have engineers in the area, to check ID, and to keep doors and windows locked.
