A GENEROUS group of ukulele players from the Wyre Forest have donated over £200 to a noble cause.
The Severnside Ukulele Strummers Association entertained at the Emily Jordan Foundation near Brinton Park in Kidderminster last Tuesday (August 13).
Funds raised from the group's recent gigs were donated to the Woodworks and Twigs divisions of the organisation.
The foundation supports people with learning difficulties develop skills and helps them to lead fulfilling lives.
The Woodworks division provides adults with a practical experience of using hand tools and equipment to assemble wooden products.
Twigs teaches individuals how to take care of plants and garden maintenance.
The Severnside Strummers are over 50 strong and meet and rehearse on Thursdays at the St Georges Club in Kidderminster
Brian Strange from the foundation thanked the ukulele players for their generous donation and said that it would be used to purchase new and safe woodwork equipment.
Severnside Ukulele Strummers Association member Gaynor Butler said: "It was a nice experience. I take a bag of instruments us and give people percussion to play like tambourines and maracas.
"It's a great feeling to play for people."
