A BARNSTORMING charity event in Wolverley has raised thousands to support muscular dystrophy organisations.

A grand total of £7285 was raised by friends and family of the owners of Bodenham Arboretum during their summer Big Barn Bash in aid of Muscular Dystrophy UK and Muscular Dystrophy Support Centre.

Not only was the intention to raise valuable funds for these very worthwhile causes but Sam Binnian, son of Bodenham Arboretum owner James Binnian, saw it as the perfect way to celebrate his 30th birthday.

The party revellers danced late into the evening to music from local group Izzy the Push and their generosity was appreciated by one guest in particular – Bryan Gould, who is living with muscular dystrophy.

Bryan said: “I am overwhelmed by the support shown. It was a belter of an evening and a belter of a result and I would like to thank everyone who came.”

The money raised on the evening, just over £5000, was given a very generous boost by a £2000 donation from a businessman who wishes to remain anonymous.
