STOURBRIDGE shopping centre The Ryemarket has teamed up with a poet to inspire shoppers and spread important messages.

The centre is displaying an array of positive quotes by poet James Mcinerney who started The Poetry Project in 2008 to raise awareness of subjects like depression and mental health to try to help those who are suffering and show them they are not alone.

Centre manager Kelley Dyas said: "It is such a great idea and helps to spread a very important message. When James got in touch we jumped at the chance to get involved."

The poems are designed to make the general public stop and think and question their life.

Across the country members of the public have been taking selfies with the quotes and sharing them on Twitter and Instagram and Kelley is hoping Stourbridge shoppers will do the same.
