A FLOOD alert has been issued for Bewdley and Stourport after a forecast of high river levels from heavy rainfall.

The Environment Agency are checking defences along the River Severn as they predict flooding of roads and farmland is possible from tomorrow morning (Tuesday, October 1).

They have forecast that the river level at Bewdley will peak between 3.1m to 3.5m on Tuesday, October 2.

The Environment Agency say they expect river levels to remain high until Thursday, October 3 and that they are closely monitoring the situation.
