A STOURBRIDGE music venue will once again play host to a grunge charity music festival.

Claptrap in the High Street will host Buzz Fest from 4pm on Saturday October 19.

The bash, which will raise funds for Cancer Research UK, will see bands Voodoo Sioux, Left For Red, WEAK13, Guns For Girls, Tyrannosaurus Nebulous, Ed Strong and Big Black Eye taking to the stage with hosts Buzzard.

Jimmy Croutear, frontman of Buzzard, said: "We’re still buzzing from last year’s event which went so much better than we hoped, it felt natural to want to do it again. It’s our way of giving back to our music community.

"Claptrap were so accommodating it felt right to do it at the same venue location again."

He added: "We are so thankful to all the bands for being a part of this great gig and cause. Each act brings brilliant variety which we know will be very entertaining for the audience."

The event also marks various momentous occasions for several bands performing on the day.

It will be the first gig for Left For Red in their hometown of Stourbridge in many years. Their new bassist will also be making his debut performance with the band.

Former Buzzard drummer Justin James will also perform twice on the bill with his new band Ed Strong and for one final time with WEAK13.

Jimmy added: "The winds of change are afoot for many talented local musicians this year, the scene connects us all, it’s nice to bring everyone back together and support a good charitable cause.

"It would mean the world to me to see as many people as possible attending and supporting this event."

Tickets for Buzz Fest cost £8 each and can be bought online at buzzarduk.com or on the door.
