DOGS on skateboards and ice cream trucks – just some of the wonderful creations children have been building at a new Lego club in Kidderminster.

The free club runs every Saturday morning at Kidderminster Library and aims to develop children’s abilities in STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths) while also building children’s confidence and social skills.

Sessions are open to children aged five and above and are held in a fun, safe and relaxed environment at Kidderminster Library.

The first two clubs proved a great success, with the children and their adults creating some wonderful designs and having fun while they learnt.

There are plans for some fun challenges in the coming weeks, including building a bridge to hold a can of beans.

Worcestershire County Councillor Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member for communities, said; “Our wonderful libraries are not just about loaning books, they offer so many experiences and opportunities.

"The Lego club is a super way to encourage children and their families to use our services and learn at the same time. “

The Lego club runs each Saturday morning from 10am to 11.30am.
