A SOLICITORS office in Stourport has closed after 50 years in the town and relocated its staff to Kidderminster.

Thursfields Solicitors has moved five staff members from The Old Inspectors House in York Street to the law firm's larger Kidderminster offices in Church Street.

Nick O'Hara, managing director at Thursfields, said: "We have a strong team serving clients in North Worcestershire and have decided they are best working from a combined office in Kidderminster.

“We’ve enjoyed our time in Stourport, but with Kidderminster only being four miles away and with the modern communications we now have, there is simply no need to be in both locations.

“Kidderminster was the obvious place to consolidate our presence as there was space to expand there, and this move is part of our plan to continue growing our success across the region.”

The move brings Thursfields' staff numbers in Kidderminster to 48.

Mr O'Hara added: "We have experienced a consistent growth of 20 per cent over the last five years, and this is down to a strategic plan that focused on recruiting the best lawyers, providing excellent client services and making sure our offices best match our geography.

“The newly expanded Kidderminster office will now become a strengthened hub for North Worcestershire, which has always been one of our heartlands.”

Thursfields staff has recently grown to more than 150 staff, with offices in Worcester, Kidderminster, Halesowen, Sedgley, Solihull and Birmingham.
