IN seventh heaven this week were Beacon Sunday League new boys CTS United who extended their impressive start to life in the Paycare Development Division.
CTS (Coseley, Tipton, Sedgley) retained their 100 per cent league start after chalking up victory number seven with a hard fought 2-0 home success over battling Gornal Rangers, writes Dave McLean.
In a match that saw three red cards, including two from the Gornal camp, CTS finally took the spoils on this occasion with two second half efforts from top marksman Jay Crumpton.
As a result CTS extended their league advantage to six points over neighbouring AFC Sporting Gornal who claimed their fifth win in nine with a runaway 11-1 drubbing of basement side Coseley FC.
Against a Coseley outfit still seeking their first league win of the campaign, Owen Harris led the goal charge with four and there were doubles for Jordan Robinson and Corey Massey. Pushing Sporting's goal glut into double figures were Stuart Brown, Nathan Wright and Connor Judge.
Fourth clubs are now two points adrift of Sporting, however one of them Sedgley Rangers missed an opportunity to grab second spot after being held to a 1-1 stalemate by Cannock United.
Sedgley led at the break thanks to an own goal, before Cannock hit back to force a draw through Josh Bradley.
Essington AFC moved onto 13 points from just six matches with a hard fought 4-3 triumph at FC Premier 2014.
Premier twice led after conceding early on only to miss out completely as Curtis Tonks fired a hat-trick for Essington. Lee Hickingbottom also netted for the winners while Jabad Hashemi struck a double.
