HOUSEHOLDERS who have their rubbish collected on a Wednesday or Thursday will notice a label attached to their bins advising them of schedule changes during the festive period.

Residents living in the Wyre Forest District whose recycling collection would have fallen on Christmas Day will be asked to put their green bins out on Monday, December 23 instead.

Those who would ordinarily have their recycling collected on Thursday, December 26 will need to put out their bins on Saturday, December 28.

There will be no bin collections on New Year's Day - instead black bins will be collected on Monday, December 30.

The changes have been announced by Wyre Forest District Council and will only affect residents who usually have Wednesday and Thursday collections. There will be no changes to Tuesday and Friday collections.

Sharon Clifford-Smith, operational services officer at the council, said: "We always try to keep any changes to a minimum to save disruption to our residents.

"This year it is people with Wednesday and Thursday collections who will be affected.

“We will be promoting the new arrangements by attaching special labels to all bins in those areas.

"If you have Tuesday and Friday collections normally, there will be no changes over the festive period.”
