WORCESTER City will review video evidence and encourage fans to come forward following unsavoury scenes after Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Heather St John's.

Secretary Kevin Preece confirmed the club would also review CCTV images from the Victoria Ground before deciding whether to pursue any complaint against the Saints.

Heather's celebrations at the final whistle resulted in altercations on the pitch with fans later complaining about of abusive conduct and gestures made by visiting players.

The issues continued as the teams went down the tunnel with referee Thomas Durno informing City a report would be filed regarding the incidents.

Preece declined to repeat accusations but confirmed top brass would be viewing footage and asking aggrieved fans to come forward with any proof to back up claims.

It was toothless City’s third defeat without scoring against Heather this season, Umar Zaman’s heavily deflected effort five minutes after half-time deciding a dour encounter.

The fact it was the only shot on target in an eminently forgettable match that was punctuated by a series of fouls and timewasting said it all, and as much as City huffed and puffed they couldn’t break through.

Robust, uncompromising and at times downright cynical, Heather came for to pinch the points and duly got them to remain level with Newark Flowserve and Coventry United at the Midland Football League Premier Division summit.

There was an edge to the game from the start, a hangover from some ill feeling after the league and cup games at Heather earlier in the season.

Demetri Brown, who never stopped running and working, had City’s best chance when his 65th minute curling effort from 25 yards hit the angle of post and bar, but that was as good as it got for City.

The lively Kory Burke wasted two first half chances for Heather, first hitting the post then seeing his follow-up effort blocked on the line by Craig Jones.

With the outstanding Mark Williams running the show from midfield for Heather, City were second best throughout despite all their determination.
