A TEAM of Bewdley mums are thrilled after a generous family-run business has offered them much needed space to keep their service running.

The Bewdley Baby Bank have had to turn away donations of clothes, cots and prams due to lack of space at their garage based at Millside Court.

Mums Kate Lewis, Rachel Hewlett and Kerena Taylor, have since appealed to the public for extra storage to continue their work supplying equipment to mums within the Wyre Forest who are struggling to cope financially.

Now, the new family-run business Chaddesley Self Storage in Chaddesley Corbett, has lent their support to the service by providing six months storage space free of charge.

Kate Lewis said: "They sent us an email and offered us six months. It's fantastic.

"It's a huge relief an we are really grateful to them."

Kate says that the recent flooding in Bewdley has also affected their service and they have not yet transported their donations to the storage facility.

She added: "We were surrounded by flood water. Our only way out was by climbing a ladder over a fence."

"Hopefully in the next week or so we can get some donations in and start using it properly."

The three mums juggle tasks between each other and also travel to give out the donations.

The baby bank is currently in the process of becoming a registered charity, which would help with future funding.

Lisa Randle, who helps run the storage business with her family, said: "We were looking through the newspaper and and saw they were desperate for space.

"We have units available because we are just starting out.

"There is a 100 square foot unit for them to keep the larger items in.

"They were thrilled to bits with the unit.

"It hit a soft spot because my eldest daughter is expecting at the moment so it's close to our hearts."
