SHOPPERS in Kidderminster will be the first to try Aldi's newest range of bakery treats being trialled at select supermarkets.

The new 'Bakery Lite' range features fresh croissants, pastries, apple turnovers and cookies that have been pre-baked and packed for shoppers to enjoy straight away or reheat at home.

The cookies come in three flavours - Belgian chunky chocolate, triple chocolate, and Belgian white chocolate and raspberry.

Aldi stores in Green Street and Silverwoods Way are among a few branches in the Midlands, East Anglia and Essex to trial the sweet treats, before the supermarket decides whether to roll out the range across the country.

The range includes some of the UK's most popular bakery products, such as doughnuts, pain au chocolat and cheese twists.

There are also creme crowns, cinnamon swirls and pecan plaits.

Julie Ashfield, managing director of buying at Aldi, said: "We know how popular our bakery products are with our shoppers, and our new Bakery Lite range is perfect for people to enjoy while they’re on the move, or to take home and heat up themselves for an indulgent treat.

"We’re confident they’ll be a big hit with our shoppers in Kidderminster.”

Shoppers can buy from the Bakery Lite range at Kidderminster supermarkets now.
