THERE are thirteen new coronavirus death recorded in Lancashire according to the latest figures.

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals have a total of eight deaths as of May 29 when the latest figures were released.

There was one death recorded at the East Lancashire Hospital Trust and eight at the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, where the numbers stand at 186 and 207.

At the Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, there were four new deaths reported. taking their total 182.

There were no new deaths at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, where 160 people have died after testing positive for the deadly virus.

The figures do not include people who died in care homes or the community and the actual number of hospital deaths is thought to be higher than reported due to a delay in recording figures.

Across the North West as a whole, the total death toll stands at 4,176 going up by 43.

The UK hospital death toll is now at 30.736, an increase of 183 new deaths.

It is up from 177 new deaths reported on Friday 29, but a decrease since the 213 figure on Thursday.

This included 146 in England, 22 in Scotland, 14 in Wales and only one in Northern Ireland.
