Coronavirus hero to cut the ribbon on new Kidderminster B&M

The shop is due to open its doors on Saturday, June 27 at 9am, creating more than 66 jobs at the former Homebase site in Spennells Valley Road.

Customers will be able to find a wide variety of branded products, including toys, food and drink, pet range, health and beauty and homewares.

The store also boasts its own garden centre, selling hundreds of plant varieties.

New colleagues at the store are now searching for Kidderminster's "coronavirus hero" to help officially open the store.

They’re looking for people who have gone that extra mile and helped to support people in need during the Covid-19 pandemic.

This can include anyone from key workers to charity volunteers, or neighbours who have done amazing things for others. Heroes can be nominated by family, friends or work colleagues.

The deserving winner will receive a VIP welcome before they take centre stage to cut the ribbon and declare the store officially open.

The lucky VIP will also be given £250 vouchers to treat themselves in store.

Kidderminster store manager Chris Summers said: “We know there have been lots of people who have done amazing things for our local community over the last few months.

“We hope that our donation can help treat them and show them how much the community really appreciates their hard work.”

He added: “Our new colleagues have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day.

"We can’t wait to get the doors open and show customers their brand new B&M.”
