NEW figures reveal which parts of Kidderminster, Stourport and Bewdley have been worst hit by the coronavirus pandemic.

Public Health England confirmed on Wednesday (June 17) that no new hospitals deaths had been recorded across the county for the 7th day in a row.

However, the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) shows another six people died outside of hospital - taking Worcestershire's confirmed death toll to 503.

More detailed figures, also provided by the ONS, have shown the Comberton area of Kidderminster was the worst affected area in Wyre Forest in terms of deaths recorded.

26 people living in Comberton died in the three months between March and May.

In the Spennells and Hoobrook area, 14 people died with the virus.

There were 11 deaths in Franche.

Birchen Coppice saw eight coronavirus-related deaths, while Bewdley West - including Ribbesford and Far Forest - had seven.

In Stourport, the worst affected area was Areley Kings, with six deaths.

The figures refer to deaths relating to people living in the area and where coronavirus was mentioned as a cause on the death certificate.

The number of coronavirus deaths in hospitals recorded by Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and Worcestershire Health and Care Trust remains at 294.

However, 700 more people than average have died between March and May this year.
