Who are you? My name is Rebecca Baddeley (formally Willetts)

When did you open? I opened The Dressing Rooms Bridal shop in September 2007. I am a florist by trade and so had always spent a lot of time around weddings. My passion has always been to have my own

bridal shop and to be the very best at what I do. The opportunity arose to rent 24 Manor Lane and from there TDR-Bridal was born and I have never looked back.

Tell us about your business In January 2019 I purchased the property from my landlord and have been able to make many improvements. We attract customers from all over the West midlands and further

afield. Our wedding dresses start at around £899 and go up to £3,000 and we have 400 different styles in store from some of the world’s leading bridal designers such as Mori Lee, Enzoani, Ronald Joyce, Justin Alexander and Sottero Midgley so there is something for everyone. Our service is what sets us apart from our competitors and it is something we have worked really hard to fine tune over the years but we know we have got it right with so many amazing Google and Facebook reviews.

How did you choose the name? I didn’t want anything twee nor did I think it was right to use my name

(it’s not all about me, it’s all about the bride!) so I played with lots of ideas before I finally settled on The Dressing Rooms. This later became TDR-Bridal as trends changed.

Who works there? I employ 13 staff, 10 of which are full time and they are all amazing. I know it’s a

bit of a cliché to say I love my staff, but I genuinely do!

What is your proudest business moment? Winning Best Bridal Retailer England in the most stringent competitions in the UK, three times. I am also proud to be Halesowen born and bred, a Leasowes girl at

heart and a fervent believer in employing local people. When we introduced our menswear department my husband Lawson came to work alongside me, running the financial side of the business. We love working together, we have so much fun with our staff and customers.

What are your plans for the future? To keep doing what we’re doing to the very best of our abilities,

keep putting Halesowen and the West Midlands on the map and so encourage all local Brides to trust us

with one of the most important purchases they will ever make. We love what we do, and I hope it shows!
