A HAIR and beauty salon in Kidderminster closed at the weekend after a staff member tested positive for coronavirus.

Lucy Potter Hair and Beauty in Stourport Road confirmed one of its workers had tested positive for Covid-19 while on annual leave, prompting the owner to make the decision to close down temporarily.

In a post made on Facebook on Saturday, September 12, the salon wrote: "Unfortunately a member of our staff has tested positive for corona virus, however they have not been in the salon since Thursday, September 3, due to the employee booking annual leave.

"We believe they have contracted the virus since being on annual leave, as they began having symptoms Monday, September 7.

"All staff are now self isolating until we reach the 14 day mark since having contact with the employee.

"We have not been told to isolate by track and trace yet or told to tell anyone any information, although we want to be extremely honest with you as the health of our clients is important to us.

"We would recommend that if you have been in the salon since Thursday, September 3 that you are careful and vigilant to any changes in your health until Thursday, September 17.

"We will be in contact this week to rearrange any appointments.

"Sorry for any inconvenience."

The post was met with comments of support from the salon's customers.

Lucy Potter Hair and Beauty has since confirmed it will be reopening its doors again this Friday.

A post on Facebook on Tuesday read: "We will be opening our doors again on Friday!

"Any appointments can be made from Friday 9am by calling 01562 746400.

"Thank you to all clients for understanding and being so supportive."
