THERE has been a spike in confirmed coronavirus cases in the Lickhill and Burlish area of Stourport.

The latest data published by Public Health England shows 14 people had tested positive for Covid-19 in Lickhill and Burlish between October 1 and October 7 – the latest data available.

It means Lickhill and Burlish has the highest number of positive cases in Wyre Forest, followed by Comberton with 10.

A total of 3,968 confirmed cases have been recorded in Worcestershire since the outbreak began, according to Public Health England figures.

Of those cases, 684 have been recorded in Wyre Forest, 670 in Worcester, 401 in Malvern, 711 in Wychavon, 893 in Bromsgrove and 609 in Redditch.

The figures are split into several "middle super output areas" – zones that are slightly larger than postcode areas with an average population of around 7,200 people.
