PUB landlords have announced they are not closing after customers tested positive for Covid-19.

Bosses at the Hope and Anchor pub in Ulverston have revealed that two of their punters have received positive tests for Covid-19.

The landlords said they have been informed they do not have to shut the pub and will continue with their sanitising procedures.

This is what The Mail's readers had to say on the matter:

Kelly Oulton said: "A deep clean could be done overnight. Do you not think these businesses are suffering enough without everyone slandering them if they choose to stay open?"

Pam Minhinnick said: "They have been advised they do not have to shut the pub and have followed the rules. For God sake be kind they have done nothing wrong."

Samantha Sherwood said: "Should all the supermarkets they have been in shut too? Why can't a deep clean be done after 10 when the pub by law has to shut? They won't have to lose anymore business then will they."

Julie Higgs said: "Well other pubs have closed their doors and did a deep clean of the place when someone who has been in and tested positive with the virus. So do the decent thing close the pub and get someone in to deep clean."

Ruth Turner said: "Thought they had to shut for a few days to do a deep clean. I understand Barrow and Dalton did."

India Queen said: "I’m pretty sure the owners know what they’re doing and the correct procedure is being put in place."

Kean Waddington said: "Not very considerate if you ask me."
