THE team at The Old Wharf Inn in Stourbridge hope to get supporters into the Christmas spirit - even if it means pubs cannot open in 2020.

A brand new small batch gin has been unveiled by Jack Gardener and his team at the hugely popular canal-side pub which opened in summer 2019.

Taking to Facebook to launch the new citrus-led gin, he said: "Given that we won’t be opening anytime soon, we’ve just put the gin we were saving for re-opening up on the web shop.

"Produced locally in the heart of the Black Country, The Old Wharf Inn Gin is distilled with coriander, orange peel, red grapefruit and Bramley apple alongside six other botanicals."

He said the label even features the pub's resident border terrier, Otis, kicking back in the sun on top of a narrowboat and he added that support for the new drink, created at West Midlands Distillery, has been "amazing".

Just a few bottles remain and they are available for delivery or collection from the pub. To find out more check out the pub's online shop.
