KIDDERMINSTER residents can look out for Eddie the Elf and his 15 friends in shop windows across the town centre this Christmas.

Kidderminster Business Improvement District and the town’s business community have created a family fun Elf Trail, which is running now until December 22.

Each elf is holding a letter that spells out the name of Eddie’s favourite film that has strong links with the steam train history of the town.

As part of the free trail, elf hunters are invited to ‘Take a selfie with Eddie the Elfie.’ A photo opportunity with Eddie is in the form of a window sticker on the side of the Town Hall on the approach to Weavers Wharf.

Competition entry forms and trail maps will be available from three locations in the town centre, including outside the Town Hall, at the bottom of the escalator in the Swan Centre and outside Costa on Weavers Mall.

The entry form is on the back of the trail map and should be completed with the name of the film and number of candy canes that have been counted.

The competition and trail closes at 6pm on December 22 and completed forms should be posted in the Swan Centre letterbox next to the Christmas tree.

The trail has been organised as part of the BID’s backing local business campaign.

The impact of Covid-19 is ongoing and the BID team are keen to increase footfall in the town centre in a covid-safe way, encouraging daily exercise and provide a safe and fun festive activity.

A number of businesses have created fantastic Christmas window displays and the elf hunt will help visitors to see some of the lovely windows that have been created by our local businesses.

Look out for Becky and Yasmin, the BID Rangers who are wearing bright blue coats and are in town seven days a week.

They are on hand to answer any questions you may have and point you in the right direction for the elves.

Paper copies of the trail map and clues are available in the locations listed above or can be downloaded from the news section of the BID website.
