VIOLENT thugs, shoplifters, and sex offenders passed through the courts of Southampton over the past month.

Here we round up some of those cases:

Man goaded woman to leap off Itchen Bridge

Edward Rickard shouted “jump, jump”, at a woman in distress on the Itchen Bridge.

The 45-year-old then racially abused a police officer trying to help her.

He was jailed for 16 weeks, suspended for 18 months following the incident on May 6.

Man left woman with “gruesome facial injuries”

Gary Hunt went on a drunken rampage at a “party which went terribly wrong”.

He knocked a man unconscious and smashed an Audi.

The 24-year-old was jailed for 20 months.

Former pub chef jailed for not checking in with police

Convicted of two offences of sexual activity with a girl under the age of 16, Dan Whitlock, failed to notify police of his whereabouts three times.

When officers knocked on his door he refused to present himself on October 20.

He was jailed for ten months in November.

A neighbour from hell threatened to kill a woman’s baby and left his victims terrified.

Aaron Callaway held all-night parties through lockdown and claimed to be in the mafia.

For his "appalling behaviour" he was jailed for six months suspended for 18 months.

A prolific criminal raided Christopher Stephens Jewellers in Lyndhurst making off with more than £30,000 in stock.

However, Lewis Bale was stopped by members of the public and then arrested.

He was jailed at Southampton Crown Court for 18months.

Mark Collinson swore at two men working at Yau Brothers Asian supermarket before pulling a knife from his pocket,

The 42-year-old then fled from the courtroom having jumped out of the dock.

He was jailed for two-years.

Shoplifter drove car at security guard after raiding supermarket

Michelle Browne accelerated towards the woman after loading up her car following a “shoplifting spree” at ASDA in Portland Terrace.

Despite making off with goods on her backseat the mum of two was jailed for ten months.

Nuisance caller threatened to murder, blow up and cut the heads off police officers

Tristan Spencer bombarded Hampshire police with 27 abusive phone calls.

Claiming he did not like the police because they use his tax money he threatened he would find out where officers live and even blow them up.

He was slapped with a 12-month community order and must complete 50 hours of unpaid work.

Cage fighter left with a fractured jaw after Facebook argument spiralled

Luke Self and two other men “bundled into a car” and drove to confront an MMA fighter.

They beat him following an argument about Foster's lager on social media.

Self was jailed for two years, suspended for two years.

He must complete 150 hours of unpaid work, 30 days of rehabilitation.
