A WOMAN who fell asleep in a rowing boat has been rescued.
A 19-year-old woman feel asleep in a rowing boat near to Northam Bridge, Southampton this morning.
Emergency services rushed to help her after her boat became grounded in the River Itchen.
She had been rowing to a friend's boat when she fell asleep, according to Coastguard services.
When she woke up, she realised she had lost an oar and was unable to move.
Emergency services raced to help her at around 5.30am this morning.
Calshot RNLI and police officers from Southampton were on the scene with the situation resolved at around 6.20am.
