HARRIERS staff lined the streets outside Aggborough Stadium this morning to bid a final farewell to club legend Brian Murdoch.

A lifelong Kidderminster Harriers supporter, Brian was best known for feeding hungry fans on match days for 55 years, serving up his famous pies and Aggborough soup.

His pies were known by supporters and visitors countrywide and regularly topped the BBC's Price of Football survey for being the most expensive in the country - although fans would say they were worth every penny.

Brian had various other business ventures in the town, including Murdoch's Wine Bar and an outside catering business.

He died on November 7 at Russell's Hall Hospital, aged 81, after a battle with illness.

In the wake of his death, 'Rip Brian' became a trending topic on Twitter as Harriers fans - and fans of his world famous pies - took to social media to pay tribute.

Harriers CEO Neil Male joined club staff outside the ground on Friday morning (December 11) to give one of their most loyal supporters a legend's send-off.

The club posted on Twitter: "This morning, Neil Male joined club staff in giving Harriers legend Brian Murdoch a send-off as he passed Aggborough for the final time."

In an earlier tribute, Male said: "I know how much Brian and his family’s food business meant to the fans here – for those coming to matches at Aggborough he was a constant for many, many years and he’ll be sadly missed.”
