NOT even a third lockdown could stop a young Kidderminster dancer from achieving her dream of a place at one of the top dance colleges.
Mia Flowers, who attends J’s Dance Factory in the town, will be attending the prestigious Addict Dance Academy in Leicestershire in September, studying for a dance degree.
Mia, 17, from Hurcott Road, attends Kidderminster College. She has been dancing since the age of five and is aiming to become a professional dancer.
Each year, thousands of 18-year-olds apply for a spot at the Addict and Mia has worked hard through each lockdown to prepare for her online audition.
In fact, because of Covid restrictions, Mia has only danced a total of 17 weeks face-to-face at J’s Worcester Street studios – the rest has been online using Zoom.
Dance teacher Jessica Ayerst, who teachers Mia both at the college and the Dance Factory, said: “Having to prepare young dancers for online auditions over zoom has been testing! Mia faced the challenge head on and I could not be more proud of her.”
