KIDDERMINSTER has seen an increase in car thefts, with police launching appeals to help track the stolen vehicles.
Police posted an appeal after a black BMW was stolen from Sheraton Drive in Offmore this morning (Monday, January 18).
The car is now believed to be in the Dudley area and those with information are asked to call police on 101, quoting 51_i_18012021.
In the early hours of Friday (January 15), another BMW was stolen after the keys were taken from a property on Admiral Walk, Kidderminster.
The white car was last seen shortly after by pursuing officers in the Merry Hill area later that day.
However, the pursuit had to be aborted when the car was driven through red lights at over 100mph in residential areas.
People with information regarding the theft are asked to contact police, quoting the reference number 51_i_15012021
On Sunday (January 17), officers dealt with another theft and posted advice to motorists on social media. They said: "With an increase in car theft being seen in the Kidderminster area CCTV / ANPR is being reviewed, enquiries are being made and our intelligence picture is growing as investigations continue.
"When reports come in minutes after a car is stolen, like the incident this morning (Sunday, January 17), officers are quick on the trail to try and apprehend those involved.
"You can help us reduce instances of car theft by using things like faraday bags for car keys, steering locks, trackers, CCTV or removable bollards and reporting anyone seen acting suspiciously near cars or driveways to https://www.westmercia.police.uk or calling 101."
