A MAN has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after a two-car crash near West Midland Safari Park.

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a BASICS doctor, the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were sent out to the collision at 1.12pm today (Monday, January 18).

The crash happened on the A456 Kidderminster Road, on the section where the road splits with a grass reservation in the middle.

On arrival crews discovered one patient, a man who was the driver of the one of the cars, in a serious condition after suffering a suspected medical episode.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "Following specialist trauma care at the scene, the man was taken to Worcester Royal Hospital for further treatment.

"The doctor from the Air Ambulance and the Critical Care Paramedic from the Critical Care Car, travelled on the back of the ambulance to help continue treatment en-route to hospital."

The road between A456 Bewdley Hill and B4190 Sutton Park Road in Kidderminster was closed in both directions following the incident.
