THERE have been 22 new coronavirus related deaths recorded across Worcestershire's hospitals.

The total number of deaths at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has risen to 577, an increase from 555 on Monday.

There have been no newly-recorded deaths in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, with its total remaining at 48.

In total, there have now been 625 Covid-19 deaths in the county's hospitals, out of 921 in all settings.

The Acute Hospitals Trust covers Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Alexandra Hospital in Redditch and Kidderminster Hospital.

The Health and Care NHS trust covers community hospitals and rehabilitation wards, including Worcester City Impatient Unit, Malvern Community Hospital, Evesham Community Hospital, Pershore Community Hospital, the Princess of Wales Community Hospital in Bromsgrove, Tenbury Community Hospital and the Wyre Forest Ward.

Across England, a further 1,027 people who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 63,322.

Patients were aged between 29 and 101 years old. All except 49 (aged 37 to 99 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Dates of death range from December 14 to January 19 with the majority being on or after January 12.
