BUILDINGS on Beales Corner, Bewdley, are now flooded after temporary barriers were breached overnight.
Rising river levels along the Severn is causing concern as the full impact of the recent heavy rain fall, caused by Storm Christoph, comes to light.
The environment agency incident response staff are liaising with emergency services and have asked residents to move possessions and valuables off the ground or to safety and have a bag ready with vital items, such as medicines and insurance documents.
Flooding will affect Beales Corner, Severnside South, Kidderminster Road, B456, access to Bewdley Bridge including property on Stourport Road. Millside Court, Kidderminster and Stourport Roads, Greenacres Lane, Pewterers Alley, Springfield Place, Ricketts Place, Springfield Villas, Nunneries and Acacia Avenue.
Properties at Beale's Corner #bewdley have been flooded as a result of compromise of the barriers at about 2345 last night. Peak in river level expected later today, Sat. The bridge in Bewdley is shut: no access from Wribbenhall to Bewdley town centre, not even on foot.

The river levels in Bewdley are expected to peak between 5.3 to 5.5m today (Saturday January 23).
Dave Throup, Environment Agency manager for Herefordshire and Worcestershire, said: "Sadly our flood defence at Beales Corner were compromised overnight. "We’re responding on site with partners. Other defences at Bewdley all ok."
