IT all started off about four years ago with a few pictures taken on her phone as she walked along the canal and then posted on Facebook.
Now a local photographer is making a name for herself among professional circles and is holding an exhibition in Kidderminster.
For the next six weeks, Sally Shillingford’s photos, all taken along the local canal networks, will be on display in an empty shop window at the Swan Shopping Centre.
Because of Covid, there are no indoor exhibitions. The photos that Sally is showing were due to go on display at an exhibition in Birmingham last year but were twice postponed because of lockdown.
The pictures in this exhibition are all canalside scenes, from the South Staffs and Worcester, Stourbridge and Birmingham networks.
Now they will be shown through the windows of the council building, hopefully, as Sally says, to brighten up people’s days with a bit of colour.
Her pictures certainly are colourful, and attracted many admirers as soon as she started publishing them online.
The 28-year-old, from Kinver, has also built up a following among Shuttle readers who enjoy Sally's pictures from our Camera Club Facebook page, while her photos are also regularly used on Midlands Today Weather.
The pub worker is hoping to become a professional photographer.
You can see Sally's work for yourself at the old Connect branch at the Swan Centre.
