A 'KIND and loving' Wolverly care home resident has celebrated her 100th birthday.
Lillian Thomson was born in Fowey, Cornwall, in 1921 and attended the local school until she was 14 years old.
It was in her hometown that she met husband Alfred, who was a radio officer in the Merchant Navy.
The pair married when Lillian was 19, on December 17, 1940, and went on to have two daughters, Susan and Frances.
Alfred and Lillian lived in Fowey until 1968 when they moved to Gloucester for his work.
Lillian worked in retail for most of her life and volunteered at the prison museum shop into her 80s.
She remained in Gloucester until the age of 95, when she moved into Nightingales Residential Home in Wolverley, where staff describe her as "kind and loving".
Lillian has three granddaughters, two great granddaughters and a great great grandson and great great granddaughter.
She celebrated her milestone 100th birthday on Tuesday, February 23.
