CARAVANS have parked up on the grounds of Stourport Sports Club this afternoon (Thursday).
A large number of caravans were seen arriving at the site, off the Kingsway, shortly after midday.
Photographs taken just before 12.30pm show police arriving at the site.
One club member told The Shuttle: "A large group of travellers have moved onto the grounds of Stourport Sports Club right opposite the high school.
"This will raise huge concerns as all of the children are back in school on Monday and teachers normally park inside the club and the pupils use the sports facilities etc over at Stourport Sports Club.
"I was just heading back to my car and noticed all of the vans pull up."
According to the club member, gates to the site had been locked but the lock was broken on entry.
West Mercia Police has been approached for comment.
It comes after around a dozen caravans pulled up on the car park of Wyre Forest Leisure Centre in Kidderminster on Tuesday.
The leisure centre, which is owned by Places Leisure, has been closed since January 5 in response to the nationwide lockdown. It's believed the car park had been secured, with the barrier down, since the centre closed.
A spokesman for Wyre Forest District Council said yesterday: "As the caravans aren’t on a public car park, this is a private matter."
