SIX people in Wyre Forest died with Covid in the week up to February 26, the latest all settings data has revealed.

Across Worcestershire, 31 county residents died where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate that week, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures show.

The data continues the trend of lower weekly Covid death totals in the county and across the country as a whole. The week before, there were 33 Covid-related deaths in Worcestershire, and 54 deaths the week before that.

The data shows six Wyre Forest residents died in the week up to February 26 - five in hospital and one in a care home.

Five Redditch residents died, four in hospital and one in a care home, and four died in Bromsgrove, two in hospital and two in a care home.

Another six people died in Worcester, four in hospital and two in a care home.

Four Wychavon residents died, three in hospital and one in a care home.

Six Malvern residents died that week, three in hospital, two in a care home and one at home.

These latest ONS figures mean that in total during the pandemic, 1,277 Worcestershire people classed as having Covid-19 had died up to February 26.

They include a total of 253 people in Wyre Forest, including 170 in hospital, 65 in a care home, 15 at home, two in a communal establishment and one elsewhere.

A total of 189 Worcester residents have died, including 104 in hospital, 69 in a care home, 10 at home, three in a communal establishment and three in a hospice.

In Wychavon, 261 people have died including 155 in hospital, 77 in a care home, 15 at home, seven in a communal establishment, six in a hospice and one elsewhere.

A total of 255 Bromsgrove residents have died with Covid, including 163 in hospital, 79 in a care home, seven at home, four elsewhere and two in a communal establishment.

A total of 181 people from Redditch have died with the virus, including 145 in hospital, 27 in a care home, six at home, and three in a communal establishment.

And 138 people from Malvern have died including 79 in hospital, 51 in a care home, five at home, two in a hospice and one in a communal establishment.
