THE owner of a home care company in Kidderminster who goes "above and beyond" for her clients has been nominated for our Health and Social Care Awards.

For Dawn Wilkes, care is where her heart is. She's worked in the industry for 30 years and set up her own home care company, Infinity Home Care, four years ago.

Those that work with Dawn say she goes above and beyond for her clients. Even on her days off, she makes time to ensure they have everything they need - even if that means nipping to the shops or helping them move house.

Nominating Dawn for our Care Hero Award, Infinity's deputy manager Debbie Lewis said: "Dawn is a naturally caring person, who has worked in all aspects of care for nearly 30 years.

"She always goes above and beyond for her clients. Making time on her days off to ensure they have everything they need, be this by simply nipping to the shops or helping them move house.

"Dawn is very patient, caring and bubbly. She has a big heart and always puts others first above herself.

"Dawn makes an amazing difference to others lives. Nothing is too much trouble.

"She has helped endless people over the years, in all aspects of their lives.

"Dawn will take time to take their pet to the vet or groomers. She's always there with a listening ear, shoulder to cry on or that reassuring bit of much needed advice.

"Dawn is a natural care giver and always has a way of making people feel good about themselves and feel included."

Responding to the nomination, Dawn, who lives in Stourport, said: "We're a home care company, we go out in the community and look after people in their homes.

"This is where my heart is, I love doing it. It's just great being able to enable people to live in their homes.

"Apart from the increased PPE, the pandemic hasn't had that much impact on what we do, only on our mental wellbeing due to the fact that our out of work life has changed so much. We just get on with it.

"Infinity Home Care have some very amazing carers and we would not have such a good name if it wasn’t for all the hard work and commitment they all give."
