A CLIMATE change action group in Wyre Forest have launched a community art project to raise awareness of climate change.

The project set up by the Wyre Forest Green Alliance, which includes organisations such as Friends of the Earth, is called ‘Art 4 Planet earth’.

The submissions from the project will be included in an online exhibition on October 18 2021.

Dee Edwards, from the Wyre Forest Green Alliance said: “We are asking anyone to produce a work of art in the broadest possible sense. It can be a poem, painting, drawing, textile, video in response to what they feel about the current situation relating to climate change.

“We are being as inclusive as possible, with the focus being on people expressing themselves through art.”

The online exhibition is also to raise awareness of the climate emergency summit, Cop 26 which will be hosted in Glasgow this year from November 1-12.

Dee also said: “If you visit our website, you can download a poster or colour in logo to put in your window. We would love to have every window in the Wyre Forest to have a piece of art in it.

“We are also encouraging people to post their photos/videos on our newly created Instagram hashtag #art4planetearth.”

The Wyre Forest Green Alliance are working in partnership with Wyre Forest District Council to ensure they reduce their carbon footprint.

The deadline for submissions is September 30.
