DELAYS to refuse collections in Wyre Forest are ongoing this week after binmen were forced to self-isolate.

Areas of Stourport and Bewdley had their bins missed last week and emptied several days later as a result of the staff shortage.

Wyre Forest District Council did not confirm how many binmen had tested positive for Covid-19 but said one crew was unable to work on Friday.

The council previously said there were no planned changes to collections over the Easter bank holiday weekend, however an update posted on the council websites states that some residents will be missed out again this week.

The council's website reads: "We’re sorry but due to a number of our colleagues self-isolating we are unable to complete all scheduled recycling bin collections on Thursday, April 1 and Friday, April 2.

"No collections will take place on Thursday, April 1 in Far Forest, Rock, Callow Hill, Bliss Gate, Gorst Hill, Dunley Road, Heightington Road, Menithwood and Organs Hill.

"We can also confirm green bins in Areley Kings, Birchen Coppice and Stourport Road will not be emptied on Friday, April 2."

An update on social media reads: "If your bin hasn’t been emptied on your usual collection date, please remove it from the kerbside.

"We will empty your green bin on your next scheduled recycling collection date and take any additional side waste. Thank you for your understanding."
