THREE people have been taken to hospital after a serious crash this morning that has led to a section of the A449 being closed.
West Mercia Police say the crash involving two motorbikes took place at 10.40am on A449 Main Road, the section southbound between Ombersley and Worcester.
After emergency services arrived two men and one woman were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.
Police have released a statement this afternoon which says: "There are three casualties, two men and one woman, all being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.
"The slip road to the A449 towards Worcester is currently closed while we continue to deal with the incident.
"We are asking motorists to please avoid the area."
An eyewitness said traffic built up in the area earlier, just after the crash.
