THE Bells Nisa Local convenience store in Habberley is moving to a much bigger premises down the road - creating new jobs and introducing more product ranges.

The owners of the Canterbury Road store have invested roughly £200,000 in the upgrade, which will see the shop move to a premises nearly twice the size, located further down the parade.

Bosses say the move will "breathe new life into the community" by introducing a much larger range of products - including a hot food counter, Tango Ice Blast facility and a Costa Coffee machine - and creating up to five new jobs.

Shop owner Jordha Sanghera said: "We've invested around £200,000 to move our Habberley shop into a bigger premises further down the parade.

"It will mean more job opportunities for local people, which is really important when there's so much uncertainty at the moment because of the pandemic, and there will be more product ranges and extended ranges of existing products like fresh fruit and veg and alcohol.

"The store has been designed alongside Nisa experts and therefore offers a really smooth and tailored shopping experience.

"During the pandemic, we've been so busy, it's been flat out - we've been doing more customer deliveries, delivering to vulnerable and elderly people in our communities, and stocking new ranges to help people who haven't been able to get to the supermarkets.

"The new store will mean we can offer an even more improved service to our community and breathe new life into the community. It's something for the neighbourhood to get really excited about."

The new store will be selling more products from local suppliers, including a freshly-baked range from Kingsfair Baker and a wider range of draft ciders from Midlands-based CiderHouse.

There will also be an in-store vape shop, a bigger flower and plant section and an extended range of Gluten-free and vegetarian food options.

A refurbishment of the new site is well under way and the new store is on track to open its doors later this month.

During opening week, there will be exclusive offers available to the first customers to visit the store, as well as food-tasting services and giveaways.

Further details are due to be announced next week.
