MIDLANDS Air Ambulance is asking people across Kidderminster to play its lifesaving lottery, to help generate funds for the charity.

The charity, which responds to an average 13 lifesaving missions a day, is appealing for lottery players after a shortfall in fundraising due to the covid pandemic.

The lottery scheme sees more than 95,000 people play each week, all in with a chance to win a jackpot of £1,000 or four prizes of £25.

Each £1 entry entitles the holder to a unique number with the winning numbers randomly selected by computer each week.

Emma Gray, chief operating officer for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “Its thanks to the kindness of local people, like the supporters of our Lifesaving Lottery, we are able to continue making critical care missions possible and saving lives across the Midlands. This year has been exceptionally challenging for us all, which is why we offer this additional way for support the charity, which is mutually beneficial as the supporter also has the chance to win money each week, while helping to fund our extremely important pre-hospital service.”

The lifesaving lottery raised over £3.8 million in 2020 funding 1,290 air ambulance and 2,580 car missions.

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC) operates and funds three air ambulances covering the West Midlands, Worcestershire,Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, and Staffordshire.

The charity also has two critical care cars - one covering the Black Country and Birmingham and the other in Worcestershire.
