A MAN from Kidderminster has been handed a suspended prison sentence after he harassed six different woman by calling them several times and hiding the caller ID.

At Worcester Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, April 13, Rhyan Owen, 26, of Orchard Street, pleaded guilty to six counts of harassment - all involving different women.

The court heard how Owen called the women more than 38 times in total and phoned one of the women in excess of 12 times. The offences took place between August and September last year.

Magistrates said Owen's offences were made more serious because they involved a number of victims over a period of time.

He was ordered to pay each victim £200 in compensation and was sentenced to a total of 24 weeks in prison, suspended for two years.

Restraining orders were made for all six victims, which prohibits him from entering Kidderminster Medical Centre or its car park, or Waterloo Street in Kidderminster for the next 10 years.

In another case at court that day, a man from Kidderminster was fined after he attacked three police officers.

Blake Wilding, 21, of Sion Avenue, pleaded guilty to three counts of assault by beating

All three assaults happened on March 2 this year and involved three police constables - two male and one female - acting in the exercise of their duties.

Wilding was fined £54 and was ordered to pay £169 in costs.

No order was made for compensation because the police officers did not suffer any "lasting injuries".

In another case, a Kidderminster man was told to pay back the cost of a television he stole from Tesco.

Wayne Pinfold, 44, of Kimberlee Avenue, admitted stealing a UHD TV worth £299 from the Kidderminster supermarket on September 10.

On top of the compensation, Pinfold must also pay £135 in court costs.
