A KIDDERMINSTER business has created 20 new jobs after recording the best two-month sales period in its history.

5 Star Windows and Conservatories received retail and trade orders worth nearly £2.5m in February and March, a figure that is 125 per cent higher than last year and 53 per cent up on 2019.

The company, which operates a showroom on Worcester Road and a second one on Carden Street in Worcester, has created 20 new jobs as a result, with new designers, operations and customer service experts added to the 100-strong team.

Management at the firm believe a combination of industry-leading new products, proactive marketing campaigns during the pandemic, and the use of technology to provide the best possible customer experience have been fundamental in supporting the growth.

The milestone achievements come at a perfect time, with 5 Star celebrating 10 years as a member of the Conservatory Outlet network of retailers, who design and build exquisite living spaces and install an exclusive portfolio of windows and doors that provide exceptional energy efficiency and security.

Richard Manser, 5 Star’s Managing Director, said: “Covid-19 has meant that people have been unable to go out or book holidays so, as a result, we have seen massive pent-up demand to start projects in the home.”

“This has helped drive unprecedented interest in our products and our rapidly growing team has been outstanding in helping customers explore their choices whilst making the buying experience as engaging as possible.”

He added: “It is an approach that is certainly working, with the last two months the best in our history. Even with numbers soaring, we have maintained our promise that whilst styles may vary, our standards don’t and we’re proud to still be recommended by 99.3 per cent of people.”

Kidderminster Shuttle:

Love Local Business follows on from the successful campaign, of the same name, which we ran in the Shuttle/Advertiser last summer and over Christmas.

The aim is to promote all the fantastic traders we have in our towns and urge our readers to give them their custom at this key time as the struggle to overcome the financial implications of the pandemic.

As part of the Newsquest publishing group, the Shuttle/Advertiser reaches a huge percentage of the local population across our well-established regional brands including print publications, record online audiences and social media.
