HARTLEBURY Castle is welcoming visitors back into its buildings as indoor venues reopen next week.

People can soon discover the stories of the castle’s 1000 year history and take a walk around the grounds.

A well as the talking portraits and Gypsy wagon collection, there will be new attractions at the castle, including an audio guide telling the stories of those who lived and worked there, and a new family area.

The castle has also added a new outdoor nature trail using Culture Recovery Funding. Families can explore the open spaces as they find out facts and try to spot the castle’s wildlife and look out for painted animals around the grounds.

Steve Bagnall, director for Hartlebury Castle Preservation Trust said: “We’re so excited to welcome visitors back inside the castle

“It’s been a difficult year, but we’ve used the time to create exciting new features, offering a great day out for all the family.” He added: “Thank you to everyone who’s supported us through the past year. Your help and donations have kept us going and we look forward to seeing you at the castle soon.”

Manager of Worcestershire County Museum Rachel Robinson said: “We are really pleased to be able to re-open and lucky to have lots of space both inside and outside at Hartlebury Castle. We know that many people have missed their days out during lockdown and we look forward to welcoming them again, for a safe and enjoyable visit.”

Hartlebury Castle reopens on Tuesday May 18. Full details and admission fees can be found at www.hartleburycastle.com
