A LIGHTNING strike is believed to have caused a house blaze in Blakedown which was battled by four teams of firefighters.
Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to the fire at a property on Sculthorpe Road at 6.40pm on Sunday, May 16.
West Midlands Fire Service crews from Haden Cross, Stourbridge and Brierley Hill also attended. The blaze affected two homes and three hosereel jets were used to fight the fire. Four crew used breathing apparatus.
West Midlands Ambulance Service attended and checked one male casualty in his 70s suffering from smoke inhalation.
Damping down also took place with some of the roof cut away and covered with sheeting.

A reinspection was carried out using a thermal imaging camera before the incident was finally closed at 3.36am the following day.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called by the fire service at 8.57pm last night (Sunday) to a property fire. An ambulance and paramedic officer attended.
"Crews assessed one man who suffered minor smoke inhalation and he received treatment on scene before being taken to Alexandra Hospital for further checks."
