THE owners of a dog that was stolen on May 14 in Kidderminster are urging the public to help find their beloved pet.

Roly, also known as Rolo, was stolen from a vehicle parked at Sainsburys in Crossley Retail Park.

The springer spaniel is liver and white coloured and was taken at around 1pm.

The owner who was shopping in Sainsburys at the time of the incident said: "My registration was called over the tannoy, so I went to customer services. A security guard took me over to my car where a female shopper had witnessed the incident.

"She said there was a car parked next to my vehicle which was believed to be a Honda Civic, and a stocky guy bundled my dog into the boot of the car and drove off at speed.

"My vehicle had been broken into as the lock was broken."

There is no CCTV on the car park which monitors the area where Roly was take.

The owner believes he was in Sainsburys for less than five minutes as the female witness contacted police at around 1:09pm.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We’re carrying out enquiries after a report a dog was taken from a vehicle in Crossley Retail Park in Kidderminster on Saturday 14 May.

A Facebook group has been set up to help find Roly and it has been registered on Dogs Lost.
