A NEW Bewdley business had its window smashed overnight just before it opened for the first time.
Tracey and Tony Rees-hull, who both run Severn Valley Bike Hire on Load Street, and were left distraught after they were told their window had been vandalised on Saturday morning (May 29).
Tracey was looking forward to opening up her new business when she received a call from a shopkeeper telling her the unfortunate news.
She said: "It was very disappointing. Saturday was the launch. It put a dampener on the day."
The hire business drops bikes off for customers at nearby campsites and people can also hire them within store.
Tracey added: "Initially I thought it was the big window. When I saw the photo, it was a bit of relief it was the smaller window."
A window was also smashed at nearby Designs by Kim Johnson store.
Jon May, who owns Mooch on Load Street, says that many Bewdley shopkeepers are concerned about vandalism in the evenings. He said: "It's a worry for most shopkeepers."
