WITH rumours that Worcester is about to have its own Love Island contestant we thought we'd take a look back at those from the county who became reality television stars.

Although James Price is not in the initial names entering the famous villa it is understood that the 23-year-old, who is originally from Worcester, is in talks with Love Island producers to appear later on in the series.

With the ratings of the ITV2 show reaching nearly 5 million at times, his appearance could turn him into a household name and join a list of Worcestershire stars from other popular reality shows.

Reality TV stars from Worcester

Harry Styles

Potentially the most famous name on our list, Redditch born Harry Styles found fame on the X Factor when he became one fifth of pop band One Direction.

The band, often shortened to 1D and which was put together on the show, finished third in the seventh series of the popular singing competition in 2010.

After massive international success the band took a break in 2015.

Harry, who lived in Evesham in his childhood, has since enjoyed a successful solo career and tried his hand at acting, starring in the 2017 movie ‘Dunkirk’.

Cher Lloyd

27-YEAR-old Cher Lloyd also made her name as a solo artist on the X Factor in 2010.

Finishing fourth Cher went on to sign a record deal with her debut single, Swagger Jagger, entering at number one on the UK Singles Chart.

Raised in Malvern by Darren and Diane, Cher attended The Chase School, Malvern, and later Dyson Perrins High School, where she studied performing arts.

After international success Cher is still producing music with her new songs reaching millions of views on YouTube.

She gave birth to a baby girl, Delilah-Rae, in 2018.

Becky Hill

Bewdley-born Becky Hill appeared on the BBC version of The Voice in 2012.

She impressed the judges with her rendition of John Legend’s ‘Ordinary People’, and made it to the semi finals of the competition.

After her success on the show she signed a record deal and produced dance anthems ‘Wish You Well’ and ‘Heaven On My Mind’ with Sigala.

Charlie Green

Droitwich's own Charlie Green was just 10-years-old when he reached the Britain's Got Talent semi finals in 2008.

The English-Filipino singer wowed the judges with his sophisticated voice, signing a record deal after his appearance on the show.

Today Charlie, who attended Westacre Middle School, still continues his singing career touring numerous countries.

Pippa Langhorn

Singer Pippa Langhorn who memorable sang operatic music with her dog Buddy, appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in 2011.

The pair impressed on the ITV show making it all the way to the live semi-finals.

Pippa, who is still singing today, set up a GoFundMe to cover £5,000 medical bills after Buddy was hit by a car last year. Buddy went on to have surgery and make a recovery.

Ginny Lemon

Ginny Lemon, a non binary identifying drag queen, said she couldn't wait to represent their home town of Worcester when they appeared on the BBC hit series Ru Paul's Drag Race UK earlier this year.

After winning many fans Ginny Lemon, who has the signature catchphrase 'fancy a slice?, made headlines for eliminating themself from the competition in a lip sync round with fellow competitor Sister Sister.

It was Ginny's second high profile appearance on a reality show, having appeared at X Factor auditions in 2017, bursting onto TV screens saying - "I'm from Worcester- just like the sauce".

Tim Culley

The original reality star Tim Culley, who was from Worcester and whose family lived in Upton-upon-Severn, appeared in the third series of the Channel 4 hit show Big Brother in 2002.

The former Malvern College pupil became an overnight celebrity as he moved in as a replacement for Sandy Cumming.

His appearance lasted 33 days, and it is understood he moved to South Africa to take up a job in banking after the show.
