A DRIVER fled after a van crashed into a house on The Gilgal in Stourport last night (Tuesday, July 20).

Emergency services were called to the town at 11:30pm after a Vauxhall Vivaro crashed into a property which was vacant.

Some Stourport residents have claimed other homes were damaged following the incident - sharing photographs on social media.

Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews were called from Wyre Forest Station. They found no one trapped in the van, with the driver leaving the scene prior to their arrival.

West Mercia Police closed the road following the crash. The driver has since been located and has no injuries.

They also confirmed that the van has been recovered and the building is structurally sound.
