A FLOORING retailer, which has recently opened a store in Kidderminster is welcoming its most successful store opening in its history.

Flooring Superstore based on Crossley Retail Park has proved popular with DIY enthusiasts and local businesses as 50 per cent of visitors during the first month either purchased products or took away flooring samples.

The store, which created four jobs for Kidderminster residents, forms part of the retailer's rapid expansion - launching shops in 15 locations across the UK.

Flooring Superstore regional manager Simon Forrester said: “To say we have been overwhelmed by the response from local people to the new store would be a massive understatement.

“Kidderminster had been on our radar for a while and once the right location became available, we seized the opportunity and opened a store.

“It’s already clear we made the right decision, and we would like to thank everyone who has supported us in the first month of opening.”

The store say the high footfall at the Kidderminster store is due to people focusing on home improvements over the summer, instead of planning foreign getaways.

Simon added: “Shoppers appear to be using this time to concentrate on their homes and this has been reflected in sales of all types of flooring we stock, whether it’s carpet, wood or even artificial grass for the garden.”

“We also have a very different offer from other flooring stores because of the range of flooring we stock and the fact that we can still offer online pricing in all our stores, having started life purely as an e-commerce business.”

Flooring Superstore is also inviting local charities, voluntary organisations, and other good causes to get in touch for donations of flooring for a particular project.
